What a weekend

The weekend in our house begins Saturday afternoon at about 12:30 and ends Monday evening. My husband works half a day on Saturday and is off Sunday and Monday. Therefore, our school week is Tuesday through Saturday. So don't be confused when Monday is seen as the weekend!

Saturday afternoon we had an outing scheduled for the teenagers. We took them to play laser tag in Orange Beach, AL. It's quite a drive, but it's the closest. It was very cold (for the beach) which is great! We don't take them down there after April because of the "swimsuits" start coming out (it's quoted because I don't see, for the life of me, why you need something like that just to swim!). We had a fantastic time in the Lord. It was good to see our young people fellowshipping with each other. We're still praying for Z. B. (not sure how parents feel about names on the web, so...) who was sick. He tried to come but as his older brother was driving him to the church, he had to stop and pull over for Z. B. if you get what I'm implying. Maybe next time, Z.

Sunday was a great day at the Lord's house. Sunday morning we had children's church with help from teenager O. N. She was a lot of help...but somehow managed to find an other work to do during the kid's song service. I think she may feel a bit silly singing and doing hand-motions to the kids songs. I'll have to get her on that one. :) Praise the Lord for the attentiveness of the kids as my husband preached. His lesson was on Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Oh, it was also a blessing that Sunday evening, my dear friend Melissa's kids brought beautiful artwork for me and proclaimed that I was their favorite grown-up. It does make me smile, but I know really that Jeremy is their favorite grown-up.

Sunday evening we had one of our missionaries, Bro. Cory Ricker, who came in to report on the work with the deaf in Peru. With a new prayer card, I had the link to his website. Pastor preached a great message, but I'm sad to say that I wasn't able to get all of it. Between having to comfort Lydia, who wanted to fight sleep, and battling my morning sickness (evening sickness?) I wasn't able to take much in. I'm disappointed to say that, but it's the truth.

Monday was spent mostly in the garden. We now have all the seeds down. I'm also sporting a nice sunburn. Even in Florida, most people don't get sunburned during the first part of March. But this skin is WHITE! My arms are very itchy today. The kids were all spared though.

Some pictures from school today:

John working on his Bible coloring page.

Ethan working a bit later on his workbook.

And Lydia coloring also. I'm embarrassed to admit she's still in her pajamas and looking rather sleepy.
